Chimay Première balances this out, offering a subtle sweetness with its creamy, firm head and light bitterness. Kasteel Cuvee is also just subtly sweet. Aging in oak barrels gives the beer a slightly tart character with notes of dried fruit and vanilla. Also try the fruity and malty Tempelier Strong Amber, which has a lovely hop bitterness and a slight haze from its yeast. Perhaps Tongerlo Brune will become your new favorite? This chestnut-brown abbey beer, with its creamy head and aromas of roasted malt and spices like cinnamon and cloves, has a very special character.
