About this product
Delirium Nocturnum is a Belgian beer from the Huyghe brewery. The white bottle is reminiscent of the pottery from Cologne. It is a dark red strong beer with a stable light beige crown. It smells of chocolate, mocha, caramel with a hint of coriander. It is also known as the Belgian triple.
The Huyghe brewery in Melle - near Ghent is more than 110 years old. The Delirium Nocturnum is the dark brown brother brew of the light Delirium Tremens. It was launched in 1999.
It is made with 5 malts and is smooth and full-bodied.
The combination of dark malts and Belgian yeast gives this beer a wonderfully versatile aroma. This ranges from caramel and liquorice to chocolate and coriander. This is accompanied by a clearly noticeable hop bitterness in the taste.
The Delirium range is marketed under Latin names and with the pink elephant. (There's even an Order of the Pink Elephant.)
The beers from the Huyghe brewery are first class and have been awarded medals.
