A Pils is a bottom-fermented, golden-colored beer. With bottom-fermented beers, the yeast sinks to the bottom of the vessel after fermentation. In addition, bottom-fermenting yeasts require lower temperatures than top-fermenting yeasts, so they also have a longer fermentation and storage time.
