Westmalle Dubbel is a Belgian Trappist beer brewed by the Notre-Dame de Westmalle Abbey near Antwerp. It has a dark brown color and a creamy head. The taste is full-bodied with notes of caramel, dried fruit and spices resulting from the use of special strains of yeast. The bitterness is balanced and the finish is long-lasting. This beer has an alcohol content of 7% and is ideal as an accompaniment to strong cheeses, stews and chocolate desserts.
