Corsendonk Father Dubbel
Corsendonk Father Dubbel
About this product
About this product
At the end of the 18th century, the daughter of the Duke of Brabant, Maria, bequeathed her estate in Corsendonk near Tornhout to the Augustinian order.
It became famous and contained many treasures...
Later the buildings were looted during religious and political riots...
The construction of Corsendonk Priory was a typical example of an abbey at that time. A brewery included. A showcase model, so to speak!
The Corsendonk beers are creations of Jef Keersmeakers, a member of a respected brewing family. His grandfather had a brewery in northern Flanders that produced a dark Abbey-style beer until 1953.
The Corsendonk beers are currently produced under license at the Du Bocq brewery.
Corsendonk Pater has a burgundy brown colour, a fruity, slightly smoky bouquet and hints of raisins and dark chocolate on the palate. Double fermentation, the second time in the bottle.
